Great Singer Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone was born on august 16, 1958, in Rochester, Michigan. She is the eldest of 8 children. Her mother died of breast cancer when she was only 6 years old. At a young age, Madonna participate in school shows, was a school cheerleader, and she took piano and ballet lessons. She attended the University of Michigan on a dance scholarship, but dropped out after two years, to move to New York City and pursue her dreams of becoming a star. Madonna barely earned a living by working several minimum wage jobs, including a job at a Dunkin Donuts counter at Times Square.
