Supermodel Heidi Klum (pronounced "Kloom") was born June 1, 1973, in Bergische Gladbach, Germany. Her father, Gunther, worked for a cosmetics company, and her mother, Erna, was a hairdresser. At the age 18, Heidi saw an ad for a model competition while reading a magazine. Allthough she was intrigued by the idea, she never even dreamed of the possibility of entering, much less of winning such a competition. But her friend had a different attitude and encouraged her to send in some photos. The Model '92 competition was organized by the Petra Magazine and a New York Model agency.
Heidi Klum The competition had a grueling selection process, where over 30 applicants arrived to Munich, in Germany, hoping to be chosen as one of the three to appear on the Saturday Show of Gottschalk. Candidates were eliminated on a weekly basis, and great babe Heidi Klum was one of the three finalists. She made the final cut to become Model '92. Full Biography
